Your Hunting Headquarters

If you hunt, Metro Pawn & Gun should be at the top of your places-to-visit list. Whether you need a .22 rimfire rifle for pest control or a scoped 30-06 for large game, our selection of guns never disappoints. If bow hunting is more your style, you will find an amazing assortment of bows and related items. Should you be in need of a rangefinder, a reliable field knife or a camping stove, the number of potential accessories we carry for your hunting endeavors is equally robust.

The Shotgun – a Multi-Purpose and Versatile Platform

When looking for various firearms, most have a fairly defined scope of operations. A long range, high powered rifle is specifically tasked with hitting targets at great distances. A semi-automatic pistol finds its purpose in close quarters encounters, such as law enforcement and personal protection. Rimfire rifles reign supreme in varmint control and target practice. Within each category, there are obviously some varied applications, but in general, you don’t hunt deer with a Glock nor do you plink rodents with a .338 Lapua tactical sniper rifle.

What Should you Spend on a High-powered Rifle?

While it is expected that certain brands, larger calibers, more robust functionality and esoteric finishes may be a driving factor in pricing, let’s look at an apples-to-apples comparison.

Long Range Rifles

Today’s rifles address a variety of applications, from hunting to law enforcement to recreational shooting. Depending on the platform and the caliber, these weapons can be effective and close, intermediate or long distances.

The Modern Shotgun

Aside from being one of the most prolific weapons of the modern age, the shotgun is also one of the most versatile guns you could ever own. You can hunt just about anything with a shotgun, use it for home defense, military or police operations, partake in various sporting applications such as skeet or trap shooting, or just have a ton of fun shooting at the range. Ammunition is readily available and relatively inexpensive compared to other specialty calibers.

Buying a Rifle – So Many Choices…..

The word "rifle" originally referred to the pattern of grooves called ‘rifling’ cut into the inside of the barrel. Rifles are used in warfare, defensive operations, hunting and shooting sports. At Metro Pawn and Gun we stock a large variety of rifles, including bolt action rifles, semi-automatic rifles, sporting rifles and collectible or antique rifles.

Tips on Buying Used Firearms

Are you looking for a new hunting rifle, or do you want to add another pistol to your collection? Drive past the local gun shop and skip the big-city gun show. Find the best prices on firearms at your local pawn shop. But, while you can find a one-of-a-kind deal at a pawn shop, it is just as easy to take home a gun with a problem. Save yourself the money and frustration by keeping these used gun buying tips in mind.

Preparing Shotguns for Sale or Pawn

There's a reason why many pawn shops have a large assortment of shotguns and other types of weaponry. Weapons are often one of the best things to pawn or sell; they have known value, they are usually fairly expensive, and you don't usually need them in your day-to-day life. But because a shotgun is a weapon (even if it's a collector's item), you need to do some special preparation.

AK vs AR?

The AK-47 is a selective-fire, gas-operated 7.62×39 mm rifle developed in the Soviet Union by Mikhail Kalashnikov. Design and development began in 1945 and in 1948, the rifle entered service with select units of the Soviet Army. In early 1949, it was fully adopted by all Soviet Armed Forces as well as most members of the Warsaw Pact. Even after almost 70 years, the AK and its many variants are still the most prolific rifles in the world. Their fame is due in part to their unwavering reliability in virtually any conditions, low manufacturing cost and ease of operation. It is estimated that one fifth of all firearms in use in the world today belong to the Kalashnikov family.

Why should you Own a Shotgun?

When it comes to versatility, there is no firearm that better meets the definition than a shotgun. Used for hunting, defense and sport shooting, this venerable platform has proven its worth in more ways than can be described.
